“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

As the Tabernacle was a symbol of God’s dwelling among men providing the only means by which men might approach Him, and in Christ God was seen reconciling the world to Himself, now the followers of Christ, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, are the dwelling place of God.

Following the ascension of Christ to the right hand of God, the Holy Spirit descended upon His followers empowering them for the ministry that He had left them to do. The Holy Spirit’s ministry during this period was carried out through Jesus’ followers as they carried the gospel throughout the world as it was then known and as some of them were used by Him to record the New Testament scriptures which would guide them in their ministry until the end of the age.
