The following truths summarize the Bible story.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and He created man in righteousness. (Gen 1:1, 27)
- God did this because it is His eternal desire to dwell among righteous men and be worshiped by them. (Ps 15; Ex 25:8; Jn 14:23; Rev 21:3)
- Man forfeited the righteousness with which he was created when he ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. (Gen 2:17; 3:6; Isa 64:6)
- Immediately following man’s first sin God appeared to him and very graciously promised to provide redemption for him from his sin. (Gen 3:15)
- From this point forward until Revelation 20:15 two things are happening simultaneously. Satan, having through deception, stolen the human race from God’s kingdom into his own, acting as the prince of this world is engaged in a futile attempt to prove himself superior to God (Isaiah 12:12-14) while God is seen fulfilling His promise of redemption to all who will believe that He gave His only begotten Son in payment of their sin. (Gen 15:6; Jn 3:16; 2 Cor 5:21)
- In order to fulfill His desire to dwell among righteous men and be worshiped by them, God is spending thousands of years demonstrating His worthiness by consistently responding to man’s sin by grace. (Gen 3:15-Rev 20:15)
- Throughout eternity God will be worshiped by angels for His holiness and saints for His worthiness, both of which have been demonstrated majestically from the beginning. (Rev 4:8-11)
